FRUIT Grenache Shiraz Mourvèdre
2017 Clare vintage was one of the latest in a decade to kick off due to the rainfall during the early growing season. The very wet winter and spring, then followed a dry spell which allowed the vines to dry out in the summer. This long, dry ripening period allowed the fruit to intensify colour while retaining the more savoury elegant tannins Clare is known for. The result is an silky and refined style.
Dark plum in colour with purple hue
Bitter chocolate and ripe raspberries have a hint of meatiness.
Antipasti, rich pork and ripe cheese are ideal.
