Winemaking 2018 Clare vintage was exceptional in quality and average volume yields, being below the previous 2017 volume. The warm, dry weather helped produce intense colour and flavours. Judicious water usage in the dry patches and only minor frosts saw good canopy management and vine health. With just over 18 hectares, or around 43 acres, of Shiraz, our estate grown fruit shone in these conditions for a richness and concentration of flavour. Placed in older French barrels, and bottled with minimal filtration, the result is a true expression of Shiraz from the Clare Valley region.
Colour Imperial purple with vibrant magenta.
Nose An upfront bouquet of mulberry, blackberry and cherry.
Palate The Palate is alive with plush varietal Shiraz, showing intense spices of white and black pepper, cinnamon, and Star anise. Finishing with firm tight tannins and long lively palate.
Food Pairing Beer glazed lamb fillet with a crispy onion crust. Crispy chilli beef and fresh Asian Vegetables.
