The Wine
With a family history of three generations in the South Australian wine and horticultural industries, byrne vineyards is committed to meeting its customers' needs whilst supporting the passion and commitment of its ethos and maintaining environmental sustainability.
In August 2010, Phil Reedman MW was appointment as Wine Advisor to the byrne vineyards group. Phil has over 25 years experience in various fields within the global wine industry. In 1996 he was credited with the prestigious title of 'Master of Wine', the wine industry's peak qualification for wine professionals, boasting fewer than 300 members internationally. Then in 1998 Phil was appointed by Tesco Stores, UK's largest retailer, as Senior Wine Product Development Manager, where he introduced a number of innovative products and launched successful international wine brands to the UK, USA and Asia. In his role at byrne vineyards, Phil guides and advises the viticultural and winemaking teams to develop new and creative wines which are relevant to the market.
Tom White heads up the byrne vineyards winemaking team, lending his not inconsiderable experience to our Clare and Riverland vines. Tom is our consultant winemaker, spending entirely too much time fussing over the state of the vines and the exact processes required in order to get the most from our fruit. Final blends are produced in conjunction with Phil Reedman for the export wines, and Kate Giles for the domestic market, each contributing a unique market perspective in the creation of byrne vineyards wines.
